How do I defend against raids?

Pick a defensible spot before you lay the first foundation — it's the one decision you can't fix later.

Spread your valuables across several containers in different parts of the base.

Use automatic defences where they actually cover something: a turret facing a door does more than one placed in the open. The placement preview shows exactly what each one reaches.

Keep the turrets loaded. An empty turret doesn't shoot, and it's the first thing people forget.

Move in a group when you're carrying anything worth raiding you for.

Keep a hidden stash of basics somewhere else, so a bad night doesn't send you back to the beach.
